When you are writing a novel, you are focused on the content more than the formatting, but that is all the more reason to make use of the features Word provides to make formatting easier for you so that youĭon't have to think about it. There is a built-inīody Text First Indent style that you can use by default its indent is just 0.15", but you can modify it to have a more reasonable 0.25" (in my opinion, the default 0.5" tab interval is excessive for a first-line indent in body text). To start, open your Microsoft Word document and type. One is applicable to the current document and other way is applicable to all the Word documents by default.
By default Microsoft Word doesn’t indent the first line in the Paragraphs. You can apply this by dragging theįirst Line Indent marker on the horizontal ruler (once you've done this for a single paragraph, it will apply to all subsequent paragraphs until you change it), but a better way is to apply a style that has this indent.
